The ABC of Death

The ABC of Death / USA, 2012
Dir: erinevad režissöörid

“ABCs of Death” is one of these movies, where you would like to write about the film somewhat differently. That is for one simple reason – person who has already seen the film would just like to go to a more open place and go little nuts, screaming out lout “This is awesome!”. Why? Because “ABCs of Death” is crazy, absolutely bonkers, jet hilarious, sometimes serious and definately full of surprises of all kinds.

This kind of variosity of fun is derived from the format of the film, as it consists of 26 short films. But also for the reason of the directors being assigned probably writing their names in the genre history for once and all with perverse, full of fantasy, sci-fi, disturbing animation or proper comedy short films. So have 26 different directors put their minds together with some of the craziest fantasies, that has become the anthology of “ABCs of Death”, where every director has got one letter of the alphabet for a short film and like one can think – everybody has interpretated the given letter as they wish, making the film into a rollercoaster like joy ride.

Among other directors, there are names also known to HOFF fans like Ti West (Innkeepers), Adam Wingard (Horrible Way To Die), Jason Eisner (Hobo with a Shotgun), Noboru Iguchi (Karate Robo-Zaborgar), Simon Rumley (Red, White and Blue), Adrían Garcia Bogliano (Penumbra), Thomas Malling (Norwegian Ninja), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), Srdan Spajosevic (A Serbian Film), Nacho Vigalondo (Time Crimes) and Yudai Yamaguchi (Deadball).

All the directors are Kaare Andrews, Angela Bettis, Ernesto Díaz Espinoza, Jason Eisener, Bruno Forzani, Héléne Cattet, Adrían Garcia Bogliano, Xavier Gens, Lee Hardcastle, Jorge Michel Grau, Noboru Iguchi, Thomas Malling, Anders Morgenthaler, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Banjong Pisathanakun, Simon Rumley, Marcel Sarmiento, Jon Schnepp, Srdan Spajosevic, Timo Tjahjanto, Andrew Traucki, Nacho Vigalondo, Jake West, Ti West, Ben Wheatley, Adam Wingard, Yudai Yamaguchi.
